Residential owners in Electra apartments in downtown San Diego just rated their building 4.5 stars! Electra Apartments, located in the Columbia area of downtown San Diego, were completed in January 2008. The owners of Electra were recently interviewed and asked to rate and view their building in more than a dozen categories. Electra came out of one of the most prestigious villas in San Diego.
Electra concerts took five of five starts in the following categories: types, concierge and safety. Much praise was given to the quality of construction through the building, including the common areas. Electra has the best "social hall" of any condominium in San Diego, and sometimes the best on the West Coast. In the public lounge is often mentioned the conservatory, its seven floors with a glass dome at the top. This space was formed by the framework of an earlier structure on the site (75+ years ago), which was restored to cover the library, a kitchen for full use, a grand piano, many works of art and separate living rooms for use by several residents at the same time. This is a very impressive open spacious room without internal walls and lots of large windows.
Employees of Electra condominiums received more praise than the staff of any other condominium in the city center. Another common response in the survey results was how the owners chose this building after viewing all the competitions in the city center. It is easy to understand why so many people love to live in Electra, its quality is first-class, has beautiful views and is a unique building, rising from the place where the old SDG & E factory once stood.
Electra's lowest rating was for a swimming pool. This is not a lap pool, like some of the competing buildings, but it has a good pool deck that surrounds Elektra Park, a tropical park with an open fireplace and a barbecue area. The pool was rated as 4 out of 5. The biggest complaint about living in the Electra villa is the noise from the freight train. Residents are looking forward to the implementation of a “calm zone”, which will significantly reduce the noise of the train, eliminating the requirement that the train sounded so loud that the horn before each crossing.
