Projections require by 2018 an increase in jobs in the field of dentistry by 16 percent.

Statistics at the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the United States Department of Labor are expecting 164,000 dentists in 2018, compared with 141,900 in 2008, when the last job numbers were compiled.
