How to create a tortoise turtle -2

Turtle terrarium is ideal if you want to show your pet and decorate your house at the same time. You will provide your turtle with habitat and the natural feeling of your home.

Step 1: Get a tank

You will need to get a tank big enough to accommodate your turtle when it reaches maturity. The minimum size of a turtle terrarium should be 3-4 times longer than a turtle, twice the width of a turtle and 1.5-2 times the height of a turtle. Add 8-12 inches above the highest level that the turtle can reach inside the tank so that it cannot escape.

If you have more than one turtle, increase the size of the tank by 40-60% per turtle.

A turtle terrarium tank should preferably be plexiglass, since ordinary glass has glare.

Step 2: Prepare the water and land

Try not to interfere with the water area, so that the turtle can swim freely, and not stumble upon decorations. Place the ornaments in the corners instead, covering other turtle terrarium equipment, such as filters.

Turtles love to bask, so they need land to rest. It can be made of acrylic, glass, thick wood, plastic, or a large stone. Attach a piece of land above the water, and the ramp bends so that the turtle can climb.

Avoid sharp edges or jewelry that will block the path of the turtle. Also, do not use gravel or other materials with a diameter of less than 2 centimeters.

Step 3: Make sure the water you use is clean

Turtles spend a lot of time in the water. Here they swim, eat, drink and release their waste. Over time, the water will become dirty, and this will make the turtle susceptible to disease if left unchanged.

Changing the water in the reservoir in the turtle terrarium is tedious work, and it is recommended to do this every 45 days at least. To keep the water clean between each change, you can use a water filtration system.

You can also add a teaspoon of salt in every 4-5 liters of water to prevent harmful bacteria, as well as skin and skin diseases.

Step 4: Decorate the tank

Make the turtle's habitat a little more homemade by adding decorations to it, rather than leaving it naked.

Do not forget to wash and sterilize things that you pick up from the road before putting them in the tank. Do not add ornaments that are sharp, sharp, or so small that a turtle can swallow them.

You can add commercial decorations, snags, gravel, plants, shells and stones to the terrarium turtles.

Step 5: Provide the right lighting

Turtles also love to bask, so you will need to heat the fire or bask on the tank. The shops have several glossy lights. When you install lights, make sure they are focused on the area where the turtle will rest.

In addition to heat, turtles also need ultraviolet rays for their calcium metabolism. UV lamps are also available in stores.

Step 6: Locate the tank in a convenient corner

Do not place the tank near the window. Despite the fact that turtles need natural sunlight, glasses in glass glass filter 95% of ultraviolet rays. Exposing the water in the tank to direct sunlight will also cause algae to grow, which means you will have to change the water more often.

After you have completed these simple steps, your turtle terrarium is now ready. But before you put in your turtle, first experience the environment, letting a small fish live in water for a while. It checks whether the water is clean and disease free. If everything is in order, you can install your turtle inside the tank.
