Using soap nuts for camping and large outdoors -2

Soap nuts make a great must-have camping when it comes to multipurpose soaps. Since they are not liquid, they are light and easy to carry and completely biodegradable with some mild pest repelling properties!

How to use for camping:

  • Put 5 soap nuts in the provided laundry bag.
  • Leave the bag soaked in a bucket of water in the sun until the water is warm, and then mix thoroughly. Alternatively, if there is a hose, simply spray the bag with a pressure hose in the bucket.
  • Remove the bag, hang it to dry for future reuse. This water can be used for clothing and dishes, equipment, RV, boats, cars and washing!

Additional tips:

Use soap nuts to wash:

  • Dishes
  • clothes
  • Equipment
  • Tents
  • Wet suits
  • Life jackets
  • boats
  • RV / Campers
  • people
  • Pets

Laundry While Camping: Boil water for clothes that are usually washed in hot water, and just add a wash bag with soap nuts to soak in as soon as the water starts to cool. Wear clothing slowly in water and shake with forceps, walking staff or a stick to avoid burns. Wait until the water has cooled before removing clothes to dry. If time does not allow water to cool, use tongs or a stick to remove clothing. Hang clothes on tree branches, bushes or clothesline to dry.

If you are camping with a small amount of equipment, you can dig a hole or find a shallow spot that is deep enough and wide enough to adapt to your needs. Level the hole with a plastic tarpaulin, if possible, and fill it with water and a bag of soap nuts and follow the directions above. Water is safe to pour on the ground.

The bag can also be used in washing machines - just throw the bag with soap nuts in the washing machine with clothes and wash as usual. Be sure not to overfill the machine, as the bag works best with great excitement. Remove the bag to hang it and use it again for the next boot.

Concentrated Cleansing Solution:

Make a small portion while camping: bring the water to a boil and carefully remove from it. Soak the soap nuts in the laundry bag, let it cool, then pour water into the spray bottle or squeeze the bottle. This solution can be used on your hair and body, stained clothing, dishes and equipment.

Lifejacket wet suit and wash:

Put five soap nuts in a laundry bag and put in a glass of warm water and let stand for five minutes. Add water and a bag (or a teaspoon of Eco Nuts ™ soap nut liquid concentrate) to a sink or bucket and shake the suit. It is recommended to thoroughly rinse the sand. Usually dried by hanging. Alternatively, you can put the bag in a bucket and use a pressure hose syringe to fill the bucket to dry the bag and release the soap.
