The bedroom is an important place. This is a place for a person to rest, so that a rejuvenated body will be ready the next day. A person stays in one place for about 7 hours and is vulnerable to unexpected events. Therefore, the safety of the bedroom must be confirmed.
When a person is sleeping, the energy for the room is a mixture of yin (still) and yang (active). The ideal energy balance for the bedroom should be more yin, since we want silence so that a person can sleep or rest (yin activity). In the house, this can be transferred somewhere far away from the main door on the first floor (level 1).
So where do you find the bedroom?
And for whom?
1. One-story houses: In front of the building there is usually a living room - a living room, a dining room, a kitchen and an office (study), where there is more yang. The bedroom sleeping area is usually located at the back of the property where there is more yin.
This also applies to apartments in the building. The bedrooms are far from the living room.
2. Two-storey houses: The first floor (level 1) is, as a rule, a living room - living room, dining room, kitchen and office (study). The upper floor (level 2) is usually a sleeping area with en-suite bathrooms. The preferred place for the master bedroom is in front of the house. However, there are some main bedrooms behind. The difference is not too great. Bedrooms for other family members can also be either in front or behind.
This configuration also applies to duplex apartments. The lower floor is for the living room, and the upper floor is for the sleeping area.
3. Inverted house with two floors: here the upper floor (level 2) is a residential area. There is usually a beautiful view from this floor. The bedrooms, however, are located in the ground or lower floor (level 1). This arrangement should not be encouraged. In these bedrooms, there is more Yang energy, and in my experience, people living here do not really feel comfortable in the bedrooms.
4. Houses with more than 2 floors (i.e. 3 or 4). The main bedroom will be on the upper floor (level 2), and the other floors for other family members (for example, children). Energy on the upper floors is more yin and more suitable for young people or children who have more energy yang.
5. Attic: from time to time the attic is used as a bedroom. Preferably, the girls had their own bedrooms. The attic is the medium of yang, as it directly looks at the sky. Girls are considered yin, and therefore they will be more comfortable in the yang environment. This is an example of how a yin person fits into the environment of yang.
6. Basement: There are also times when the basement is used as a bedroom. It is preferable that boys who are considered yang use rooms on this basement (more yin energy). This is an example of how man-young is built into the yin environment.
The ideal location of the bedroom somewhere quieter, as they say, "Away from the Mad crowd." Somewhere the energy balance is more yin than yang.
Feng Shui is a Chinese land management system that developed with the growth of Chinese civilization more than 40 centuries ago. We are talking about the use of natural energy in a living environment (houses, buildings, cities and cities). This should make living space conducive for people to have appropriate behavior to achieve better health, wealth and happiness.
