Outdoor entertainment
The first use of the courtyard - the entertainment of friends, family and neighbors. Australia is blessed with a great climate, but as long as we all like to spend time outdoors, it’s not very comfortable to sit in the sun for a very long time. The patio provides the perfect place to sit outside in the shade. Most people have an open-air stand on the patio, from comfortable open-air sofas and chairs to tables and dining rooms.
With the addition of lighting, television and music, your patio is the best place to entertain guests in the summer. And if you buy a patio heater, you can continue the party well in the winter. A few extra blankets should protect you and your guests on cold evenings.
Cooking
The next best use is patio for cooking. Why use the kitchen when you can grill outdoors on a barbecue? Many Australians are transforming their patio into an open kitchen. It is surprisingly easy to do these days thanks to some very stylish and affordable floor-standing kitchen appliances. If you decide to create an outdoor kitchen, carefully plan it. In addition to a barbecue, an open grill or a pizza oven, you will need a cooking area, a sink, storage cabinets, and sometimes a mini-fridge or refrigerator. Make sure you have enough space for cooking and eating, and if the space is tight, think about expanding the patio.
Leisure
Families often hold games and toys on the patio, so children can play in the shade. Throw a rug and cushions so that children are comfortable and adults make the most of the chairs. The patio is also a great place to store a billiard table or game console. The noise will be less significant if you want peace and quiet in the room. Add lighting and you can make good use of your patio in the evening. You can also choose to have your other half turn your car engine in the courtyard, rather than indoors on the kitchen table.
Relaxing
Not much beats on your patio when it's hot outdoors. Curling with a good book and a cold beer in the shade of your patio is very relaxing, so millions of Australians use their patio for relaxing.
Cultivation installation
The patio offers excellent areas. There are many plants that thrive under the cover of the patio, so if you have green fingers, start cultivating pot plants, herbs, fruit trees and vineyards and vegetables. Choose plants that prefer shade, and make sure you water them regularly.
