Among people, we can distinguish three types: “Read scientists well, do not read well and weak knowledge.” Shallows signs look like collections with problematic behaviors. Tiruvuluvar, a Tamil poet, singled out one chapter in Tirukkural, a treatise authorized for them to describe them. The chapter number is 85. Many have translated the chapter title as ignorance or something like that. Ignorant means one who knows nothing. I am not aware of rocket science, and I understand this perfectly. Knowledge is weak, while with half support plus something. What is this addition? Shallow Knowledge is a noun that I came up with to designate people who only have a runaway level of knowledge in the subject that they call their domain, and demonstrating the same thing, without occupying any doubts in their knowledge. This is a kind of upstart knowledge! This upstart is an addition.
My external candidate, the appraiser, did not use the word "Knowledge", but said that my knowledge of Sigmund Freud was superficial. I think he would like to call me the Silk of Knowledge. Thank God! When the examiner who conducted the oral exam wanted me to defend myself, I thought that the external examiner was right, and my knowledge was actually fluent, that I confessed to the oral examiner. My sincerity was appreciated by the promise that this is an indicator of readiness to learn, and the examiner expressed the hope that I would go later. Have you noticed that the oral exam changed my status from “Shellow Knowledge” to not read? I described the character "Knowledge of the Slavs" using kurals. Each translated version of Kural is accompanied by a description.
Low knowledge is poverty among others, // Other poverty (s), the world will remain its successor.
A few years ago, I attended a conference at which a faculty from the university department presented a document. After a few minutes, the collection became restless, because his article was something of a learning material, good enough for a student-student. He stopped and then encouraged the audience to ask questions. The pathetic part of him was that he did not stop on time, despite the fact that the chair reminded him of handwritten words. Later during the break, I heard him say that the chair had mistreated him because of his low academic rank!
Knowledge A shallow one delivers, // No other feat deserves it: it is tapas receivers!
Tiruvalluvar shows a very sophisticated sense of humor. He says that the Glory of Knowledge too wants to convey its wisdom to sharp receivers. But not everyone except those who passed the fine was lucky to receive it! This observation has a lesson even for those who, of course, do not have the Knowledge of Silk, but show some willingness to deliver it to others! I am one such person. This year our apartment committee invited me to take part in the celebration of Independence Day and raise the flag. I was glad to receive an invitation. As soon as they left, I sat down to prepare my address. When I was lost in my thoughts, having raised something special for children, my wife came up to me and said carefully. Her mandate was that I should not speak for more than 10 minutes, and my conversation should be limited to something interesting for everyone and especially not boring for children!
The Disease Silk Disease brings itself, // Even their enemies cannot.
Knowledge Shallows suffer because they act on the basis of what they know. They do not consider it convincing that they should update their information with those who know in this area. My friend has a strong propensity to correct the situation. Without a doubt, this is a good quality. But he resorts to self-treatment based on what he collects from magazines here and there. In India, many medicines can be bought without a prescription. I recently heard that his wife had to urgently send him to the hospital for his bleeding piles, which I thought were the result of his self-regulation.
“We have the best knowledge,” // The Lordship is alive when this vanity reaches the edge.
I know one therapist who practices therapy. Once I was surprised when, without any prohibition, he compared his work with the work of a surgeon. “The surgeon does not have a big problem, he knows where to put the knife, but the most difficult task for me is to find out the cause of my client’s behavior.” When he spoke like that, I had no words to react. The total absence of inhibition and the absence of a sense of satisfaction with the nuances of other work is a sign of the hall of some of us!
When he goes beyond, what he knows without a doubt, // Doubt even arises of what he knows.
This character is the usual place. Here is the history of the shoemaker of past years. When he delivered the shoes, which he made to the local leader, he received not only more than he was imprisoned, but also very grateful for the neat work. Having risen by this, the shoemaker took the initiative to offer his feedback on newly arrived furniture. The chief ignored it. Cobbler continued, only rudely said that he should confine himself to his home and leave the place. This was said by the leader in a poetic way "Sengoda seruppu". Sengodan is the name of a shoemaker, and serupp is the Tamil word for a pair of sandals. Even today in our area it is customary to say that Sengoda seruppu & when someone is free to say something that goes beyond his / her experience.
What purpose does dress up, // When Knowledge Shellow takes no step to cover his anger.
Protection of one from immunity is achieved through good clothing and sound knowledge. Therefore, no great goal is listened to when someone dresses well, but does not have any reasonable knowledge!
I had a graduate student dissertation. On the day of defense, my fears about his dissertation became reality. Before the defense, when we met the examiner on the fridge, I found that she nods her head, apparently impressed with his dress. He was completely puzzled by his last performance. She told me that it was difficult to get a dissertation. I coincided with her. “I was impressed with his appearance, but now ...”, she murmured. I told her that the student had a good sense. He always dressed well. But the same cannot be said about his academies.
Knowledge Minor flaws in the great pleasure of life skill, // They act to bring great harm to themselves.
Knowledge of Petty, because of his vanity, has an inherent trait that makes consulting various sources, and most importantly, excellent pleasures for acquiring life skills that are unpleasant for him. Isn't it true that we come across many such people?
Starting from the eighth, Kural Tiruvuluvar depicts the knowledge of Shallow as a person who is unable to benefit from the right type of education. The meaning of these three pairs can be summarized as follows: “Knowledge is Shallow” does not help the society of a wise person because of his indifference to them. He has a reluctance to learn himself because of his vain glory. Knowledge of Shallow is the curse of society before his death.
Will not act on other tips; will not learn by himself, // until it is completed. This Slavic glory is a disease for him.
Has no studied perspectives; neither he raises them, // because of this, his house (s) continues to grow.
He does not speak in the voice of wisdom, // The world considers him a demonic vice.
Technique: There is a technique that allows you to protect yourself from knowledge. Stranger. Read the Kural (Chapter 43, No. 4) below:
Wisdom in simple words explains to others, // And grasping opportunities for obtaining additional knowledge from them.
Vainglory because of the false sense of reaching the top. This feeling slowly disappears if we listen to what others are saying on this issue only because their advanced knowledge or ignorance can wake a deep thought in us. So give your resistance and listen to what others are saying. Do not speak at the same time in yourself. Do not be judicial. Do not react immediately. Reserve your decision for some time. Think of all the pros and cons of what others are saying. Such a deep reflexive thought is an antidote to the symptom of "Knowledge Finely."
# Kural in Tamil means short. This is an epigrammatical form consisting of two sentences with four words in the first sentence and three in the second. His gauge is very complicated. I translated each kural to make them look like the original to the best of my ability, of course, not adhering to the seven words of norms because of my inability to realize it translated into English, which for me is a foreign language. Since the editor of What You See Is What You Get does not allow breaks, I resorted to the method of applying two slashes after the first sentence. Like the first word in each sentence (as is customarily used by other translators) begins with a capital letter.
