Dirty lanes in your carpet look gray, dull areas that get a lot of traffic. We call these “lanes” and this can make your carpet look horrible.
Some people ignore the problem and do nothing when they replace the carpet. If you can control the main equipment and have extra time for this, you can clear these lanes yourself and revitalize your carpet.
Here is a list of what you need:
1. Carpet cleaning machine. For 20-50 dollars a day, you can rent one of these cars to do this work.
2. Purification of chemicals. For intensive road cleaning, go to the nearest house for cleaning and ask for a gallon of "pre-spray carpet" or "road strip cleaner." It can take 15-20 dollars per gallon.
3. Good working vacuum.
4. Clean, stiff bristle brush.
5. White vinegar.
6. Time and a little sweat.
Step # 1: Give these lanes a good vacuum cleaner. Make sure your vacuum is working properly and not in a hurry. Drive slowly along the road lanes to pick up the covered carpet fibers.
Step # 2: Dilute the pre-sprayer in the tank of your carpet cleaning machine. Read and follow the directions on the label of the bottle with pre-spray. More is no better, and if you make too strong a breeding, you will leave a lot of residue on the carpet.
Step # 3: Pre-clean the carpet with a carpet carpet cleaner, turn on the pump and leave a vacuum, it will spray chemicals onto the traffic lanes, and if your carpet cleaner has a brush, turn it on, agitate the carpet fiber and really loosen the built-in dirt in the carpet.
Step # 4: Use your stiff bristle brush to HARDELY agitate the carpet and work on any places on the carpet. Let the preliminary passage sit in the carpet for 15 minutes, but do not let it dry on the carpet.
Step # 5: Drain the remaining pre-sprayer in carpet cleaning and fill it with very hot water. Then add 1/2 cup of vinegar to the tank. Vinegar neutralizes pre-spraying and reduces the foam content in the tank to collect cost-effective carpet cleaner.
Step # 6: Turn on the pump and vacuum cleaners, and work back and forth along the lanes by rinsing the pre-spray and leaving the carpet squeaky.
Following these steps, you should see a dramatic improvement in the lane of your carpet. If you feel that the area is still dirty, you can go through the carpet again by following the same procedure. This may not be the same as the new one, because the carpet fiber can be cut off from the sand and abrasion from the movement of the legs. But, it should be much better than the beginning.
