ORIGIN OF LOGISTICS OF FREEDOM PLAYGROUND
The original squirmito was created by Dave Heath of Casters Online. The best worm and a variant of the more widely known San Juan worm. Known for robbery and, reportedly, was one of the only flies that the trout actually stalk ... Squirmy Wormy. Can be used for any fish that eats worms. The San Juan worm won more than its share in a single tournament on flies, and also squirm. Squirmy Wormy is what I consider the best option for the San Juan worm.
MATERIALS AND QUALITY OF SUMMER
Associated with silicone threads, which seem to rubber and have excellent viggly action. If you get or gouge out, do not go in a hot car. If squid binding does not use any type of adhesive or UV resin, as the material will melt. Well-tied flies must catch more than a couple of fish, endure some hard bites, and finally more than 100 castings. The hooks to which the fly is tied must also be known ... so many low-quality, unnamed, unpainted, poor performers. A good hook is Mustad, Dai Riki, MFC, J Stockard, for starters. There are many premium brands you can use, but don’t expect anyone to use them commercially if they aren’t asked and if you’re willing to pay extra and wait longer. Silicone should have a larger diameter than rubber feet, stretch 5X length before breaking, and not be brittle or cracked. Any dubbing on the fly should stick evenly with a small amount of strands. Any beads ... if used ... must be non-toxic material. NO head cement or resin. The material Sili must be cut not even broken. If the thread shows up on the body and creates sections on the material, then the fly will be worse, and it will be destroyed on hard bites when the thread cuts it. Some tyrants wrap material on a hook ... I do not do that. If the material is not wrapped, it should not lie under the hook ... it is a skill that many do not master ... pinch ... and then the material "rolls" on the sides and under the hook, creating a divine kind of mess ... If wrapped should be flat areas, not stretched too tight.
FISHING FREEDOM
Any nifting installation should work with your fishing installation for flies, a double nymph with a shock indicator, a large floating fly for an indicator with a dropper, or simply wriggle, adding split if necessary. For spinning, spincast and foundry installations ... use a spoon / spinner, such as panther martin, mepp or other with hooks that are removed and imposed as a drip. I myself use a single crystal 10lb for a rotating bubble with a swivel and tie cable 3lb or mono to rotate about 18 inches in length. You can also use rubber bands tied in a line at two places 18 inches above the nymph / wet fly, and the other at the desired depth to stop the spinning bubble. You use a wedge-type jet bubble to add water so that you can throw a fly with another projectile other than a rod. This works with most flies that you cannot cast with a spinning, spincast or casting mechanism due to weight problems. OHH ... Almost forgot, if you have never used spinning bubbles, use transparent transparent tubes passing through the center, which is wedged and allows you to add water to the mass to be cast ... use enough water for the casting. You can add a split shot next to your nymph if there is a current so you can take it off. Catching a picture on a stream and catching 100 ruins or thugs does not mean that you have a good picture. Fish in most streams here in Montana will touch everything that falls into the water from pine needles, grasses or pieces of wood.
INSTRUCTION OF EDUCATION
The way I communicate is similar to the Tightline Productions video on YouTube and Orvis.
The list of materials is contained on the Orvis website. For my red worms, I use Quick Descent dubbing, although any dubbing of the same color as durable material should work fine. This is not an exact science. I mentioned ... again ... do not use any glue, cement or resin with this fly, as the reaction melts the material. I’m half hitch and then use two 3-end whip to complete. There are many templates that use Squirmy stuff just around Google and find the one you like. Most of the methods are described in the Fly Tier help system.
SHOPPING SHEET
You will find that many stores handle this template or similar. If you are buying, just look for recognized signs of poor quality that I covered before ... enjoy and build!
