Heat exchangers are common parts of several devices and mechanisms used today in many industries. Heavy industries, such as oil and gas installations, power plants, wastewater treatment plants and refineries, use them in their equipment. Equipment used in such industries requires not only constant tuning, but also continuous cooling. Heat exchangers do this work for them.

Definition

Heat exchangers are devices that are installed to ensure efficient heat transfer from one carrier to another. These media are usually water and other liquids. The process includes liquids separated by a thin solid wall that will not allow it to be in direct contact with each other. There are also heat exchangers that allow these fluids to mix during the transfer process.

Various types

There are several types of heat exchangers. In addition to the shell and pipe, here are three more types of common exchangers that are commonly used in many modern devices:

· Plate heating

These types have several plates that are usually thin and slightly divided when placed in machines. They usually have a large surface area, which makes it easy to process heat transfer between environments. Compared with the shell and tube plate heat exchanger is considered more efficient because it has an arrangement with the plates laid.

Over the years, many cars have turned into this type because of its practicality and efficient use. In machines such as refrigerators, they can be of two types: soldered or soldered.

These devices can also be classified based on the types of plates used. They can also be differentiated by the configuration of the plate used. Some plates may have their own unique designs with different brands, patterns, fins or grooves.

· Plate belt

This type can usually be found on machines that are used for the processes of natural gas installations, liquefaction installations, air separation installations and many others. It can also be found inside the motor engines.

· Adiabatic wheel

This type of heat exchanger uses an intermediate liquid and solid in the process of its heat transfer. Adiabatic wheels consist of a large wheel together with very thin threads that rotate through hot and cold environments. This provides efficient heat transfer between the two liquids.
