There are no barriers on the Internet where age is concerned -2

71% of 65-74-year-olds are active on the Internet .. including my parents, however, I get phone calls every day to sort out my IT problems! The fact that they are very well perceived technology, all of this at first causes concern. The older generation continues to keep pace, they are “tuned and switched” right into their 70s and so, because many still have the energy and enthusiasm to continue.

Pensions Minister Baroness Ros Altmann said: “For many years I have defended the value of enterprises employing older workers, and it’s wonderful that their number in the field of employment, including older women, is now at a record high.

“Clear employers change their attitudes towards older workers and use the excellent skills and experience they can bring to the workplace.

The workplace is changing, and older people are faced with the problem of “maintaining” with insurmountable advances in technology. Gone are the days of paper and pencil, all of which are touchscreens and webinars.

A couple of major obstacles for the older generation are physical and cognitive difficulties, people suffering from arthritis, memory loss and deteriorating eyesight find this very challenging.

A study by the London School of Economics (PSSRU department) revealed the following problems:

  1. Understanding that information and communication technology is expensive.
  2. Poor access to adequate broadband and unreliable connections in areas inhabited by older people.
  3. Concern about loss of confidentiality, fraud and identity theft.
  4. Lower levels of qualification due to older people who left work earlier or only around, a time when ICT became the main one.

“In general, evidence suggests that older people are deeply ambivalent with regard to ICT and relate to allowing him to comprehend too much in his daily life,”

It seems that the data is mixed with some users who gain a sense of achievement and achievement, while others do little or no improvement in their well-being.

Obviously, we need actions from the government and the public sector to support those who want to embrace the digital world in order to keep them at work as long as they want to be there.

Like this or hate it, we manage our business and personal lives. Online and access to most services requires the Internet, so the support of the older generation is more important than ever.

Boomers are more active and healthier than previous generations, and if they are happy to continue to work at work that they like, then why throw it away?

Medical advances ensured that we live longer, but the boomers may have ignored the basics - do they have money for health care and living in the future?

The biggest reason that almost every study referred to today in the media that is not retiring refers to is a shortage of cash.

There were numerous scandals with pension funds, and financial downturns associated with cash contributed less to their retirement funds. This, combined with the desire to continue the journey and live in a good life, made the Boomers locked in their desks.

The following websites can help you find out if you want to go online and find out if you have enough money to retire (if you want):

As Mark Twain said, age is the problem of mind over matter. If you do not mind, it does not matter.
