Survival of Theseus, Randy Noble - Book Review -2

Randy Noble brings science fiction innovation to the epic mystery of evil alien clashes in his book, Theseus Survival.

SOAD, an acronym for search and destruction, teaches and equips officers who are licensed to kill, as they guard the distant future corridors of space, maintaining law and order among travelers on various spacecraft. Regina Valensky, an SOAD officer, takes a vacation on a luxurious space cruise ship called the Pyramid-1, when he is deceived, fed and dragged into the secret of death, beyond the usual understanding. She explores the bewilderment when the entire crew of a spacecraft en route to a planet with a livable population simply disappeared, leaving only clothes on the decks of the ship - as if they had lost and disappeared. What caused such odd forensic evidence? How could this happen to the whole crew, without a trace? With her own crew of a dozen experienced pilots and professionals, Regina went to the SOAD ship, designed with an invisible protective shield to unravel the facts of a strange accident or possibly die.

The provided science fiction scientist is already familiar with the many plot scenarios associated with space travel among distant satellites and planets. However, as soon as you think you have seen everything that technology can demonstrate, Randy Noble comes up with some clever “inventions”. So clever, that maybe he should look for a patent for some of them!

For example, two Gene Roddenberry technologies were bought for all of us, which were great for plot elements, but contrary to Albert Einstein's theories, this is warp drive and teleport (shine). Randy Noble skillfully escapes in what goes beyond ordinary physics when his spacecraft travels fast, but not faster than light. In this novel, ships must also remain in the corridors of the matrix or stripes in space, designed by smart markers, types of "floating matches". Only SOAD ships can receive "labels" through the grid of interplanetary travel. Other spacecraft trying to go beyond the designated areas, allowing passage by brand, lead to the fact that their engines do not work instantly, their fuss is stuck and have to wait until law enforcement agencies come to them to pick them up for prosecution.

Another technology that I found fascinating was the Magnetic Tube, used to transport people from spacecraft to space on the surface of the planet. Described by Randy Noble as a beam of energy, the tube roughly resembles an elongated hoop ring extending from the ship to a draft distance of about 4 feet above the ground below. The magnetic tube extends from the ship in two cascaded energy fields - external - moving in the opposite direction to the internal. The man entered the tube and, like an elevator, was brought to the portal to the end to reach a safe point on the surface of the planet or the moon below. Then two fields of energy will be sent back to provide a return to the ship. Despite a bit of a difficult journey, he made for some compilation of theoretical physics thinking, in my amateur scientific reasoning, about the possibilities of new ways that people can solve problems that do not yet exist.

The technological side of "Survival of Theseus" develops uncertainty, while Regina's collections are removed one by one using someone else's power, which can only be seen in the form of an orange glow of light, not taking the form necessary for targeting and destroying. Alien killer without hesitation, force suppresses all that is included in its proximity; without a chance to protect yourself. As the team fights with this epic evil enemy, the character’s development becomes such that you recognize them as companions of earthly space. Each of them is written with many classic literary tricks, which makes it an attractive page turner in the futuristic fantasy world of reliable scientific techniques; truly classic sci-fi.

Although rented with some “R” rated words, the book will still be recommended for reading for adult adults, but not for children. While sci-fi fans of all ages cannot get enough new technology, Randy Noble certainly introduces some original devices, making reading this a must for those looking for a trip from the ground and an exciting battle in the vacuum of space. Action clash with what is defined in Greek mythology as a murderer; The Survival of Theseus will linger in your thoughts.
