
Epidermis / skin is the most external barrier that protects the body from the harmful effects of the outside world. Occasionally, your skin may develop a rash like symptoms. Simply put, your skin is affected by the external environment and has developed a physical manifestation known as a symptom.
Usually rash develops due to skin irritation caused by various irritants. The rash is not usually serious and usually disappears in a relatively short period of time with proper care and use of standard home therapy. In cases where the rash does not disappear or the skin becomes so irritated that medical care is required, you should immediately consult a doctor or dermatologist.
Most common rashes often cause contact with a substance that irritates the skin, this is called contact dermatitis. These types of rashes usually begin within 48 hours after contact with an irritant. Contact symptoms of dermatitis include reddening of the skin or a rash of small red bumps. More severe symptoms include; swelling, redness and large blisters. Based on the location of the rash, you can determine the cause.
Contact dermatitis may not be in contact with the irritant. As soon as you experience rash symptoms caused by an irritant, the rash may even occur in response to very minimal contact. Contact dermatitis is not considered serious, but can leave you feeling discomfort or itching.
Common irritants that develop contact dermatitis include:
· Some types of jewelry and fabrics.
· Items in the house; Soaps, detergents, shampoos, perfumes, cosmetics or lotions.
· Drugs, over-the-counter and illegal drugs
Poisonous plants such as poison ivy or poison oak.
· New tools, toys, appliances or other items.
· Allergies to natural rubber or latex can affect people who are exposed to large amounts of rubber products daily. These latex reactions can become very serious.
A rash can be a sign of chronic skin problems such as acne, eczema or psoriasis. Extreme conditions, whether hot or cold, can also cause skin rashes. It is known that anxiety or a high level of emotions, such as frustration or embarrassment, cause skin rashes.
It is known that a rash appears after exposure to insect bites or parasites. When traveling to remote areas, a rash may develop.
Symptoms of irritation may accompany viruses, such as; fungal infections, herpes and other highly infectious infections. Some rash symptoms may be caused by more serious illnesses like; kidney disease, some forms of skin cancer and liver disease.
Medicines are known to cause a rash, side effects, and in very rare cases, the use of sulfate-type drugs is known to cause a large red rash called toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), which can cause skin breakdown, leaving large areas that merge similar to severe burns. If you think you have this type of rash, contact a qualified doctor immediately.
Treatment of rashes depends on the symptoms present. If several symptoms are present, including; Shortness of breath, fever, or vigilance of the chest or abdomen can cause a serious allergic reaction, and immediate medical attention should be sent after.
