This is one of the best martial arts in Asia, which attracts many martial artists to study it. Silat has a personality and can be studied even for a child as young as five years old.
One of the interesting themes of the syllabus sitabs is known as “Tapak-Silat”. Many silat warriors recognize that anyone who masters this unique technique will easily understand the whole methodology of fighting and sparring.
The Tapak Silat is a step pattern or floor plan used in the Silat to facilitate the movement of a step. He develops situations of the exponential silat (where-to-where) and steps (Langka) to strike, defend and receive any blows from the enemy. Fixat tapak is based on the position of one or two legs on the floor. Meanwhile, a step in a sitat means an activity that required a person to move his heel in order to walk or move, from one area to another area.
Structure of Takak Silat in self defense based on a geometric line, such as a straight line, a horizontal line, a triangle, a rectangular, circumferential and star shape. When the silat scores control all these steps, they can easily get any quick fists, unlock any blocking methods, such as blocking the wrist and getting rid of any fishing technique that is very popular in other martial arts such as aikido, jujitsu or judo.
Takak Silat can be trained independently or with a partner in order to develop perfect sitat movements. The maturity of silat movements for receiving or attacking cannot be imitated or copied from others without a silat pointer; it invests hours in training to develop these skills. Silat Melaiu emphasizes the correct movement of the step, as it can help the exhibiting silat to easily defend and attack. Here are seven steps and an explanation of each of them at the seven levels of the silibus system;
1. Tapak Satu (standing on one or both legs).
2. Tapak Dua (moving along a horizontal line).
3. Tapak Tiga (triangular pattern step).
4. Tapak Empath (rectangular step pattern).
5. Tapak Lima (star shape with five angles).
6. Tapak Bulat (circle shape pattern).
7. Gabung (a combination of all the step drawings for the layout).
Tapak Silat is also a secret technique for unarmed and practical self-defense. You should never try to fight or fight until they get proper training in a tapak sitat. Self-defense moves in combat, when light power, when silat members know how to combine all seven patterns in a tapat sitat, to get or hit an opponent.
