Pilots and UFOs: Death in the sky -2

The phrase "unidentified flying objects" suggests that UFOs are similar to our ground pilots - and fly, and share our airspace. Thus, ground pilots had to see and report a significant proportion of UFO events. And indeed it is. There were many interesting interesting meetings between military, commercial and private pilots. There is no great news. However, there were several UFO cases that reported the death or disappearance (and suspected death) of the pilot (s), and sometimes the crew. This greatly enhances the seriousness.

UFO observations by airline pilots (military, civilian and private) now number thousands. Unfortunately, there were cases when pilots who died or who went missing (allegedly dead) were witnesses, harassment or otherwise associated with a particular UFO related activity. Only this suggests that UFOs are not only a serious business, but sometimes a deadly affair.

The list of pilot meetings with UFOs is now so intense that in order to sufficiently cover the subject you will need several volumes of the book’s length. However, there is a deadly subset of these encounters associated with the pilot. Here are a few of the most well-known case histories, and, fortunately, to my knowledge, there are relatively few.

MAY ISLAND INCIDENT (1947): This incident is indirectly related only to pilots and UFOs. since this is related to the alleged UFO incident and the death of two military officers piloting a military aircraft, but there was no direct collision between the UFO and the aircraft. While there is a huge amount of material related to the Mori Incident, from conspiracy theories and concealments to threats from men in black, with the disappearance of witnesses and evidence (photos), even something approaching direct deception involving several early pioneers of flying saucer. business, much of this story is irrelevant to the death of military officers and is omitted here.

The main story revolves around Harold A. Dahl, his son Charles and the dog. They all rode a boat near Mori Island in Puget Sound near Tacoma in Washington or around June 21, 1947 (which actually precedes the official beginnings of the modern UFO era by a few days). They claimed to have noticed the air fleet of what we now call (deaf) UFOs flying in formation and surrounding another UFO, which seemed to be experiencing some kind of difficulty. An object that was in some kind of disaster or that was faulty, threw out some kind of hard slag-like material, which, obeying the laws of gravity, fell to the ground, got stuck and damaged Dal's boat, caused some minor injuries for himself and his son. but, alas, killed the dog. Slag samples were recovered. Through the ring route, two military (army aviation corps) reconnaissance forces were involved in reconnaissance. Two investigators, Capt. William L. Davidson and Lieutenant Frank M. Brown of the A-2 Army Intelligence arrived and interviewed and received samples of "slag." before landing and piloting their B-25 aircraft, the destination is Hamilton Field in California. The plane, which contained two investigators and a slag, crashed near Kelso, WA, shortly after leaving Tacoma, killing both men. The other two aboard, one of which is one of the servicemen, a military hitchhiker, sergeant Elmer L. Taft and technical sergeant Woodrow D. Matthews survived a parachute from a plane after it lost its left wing and tail to fire in the left engine.

The FBI report during the incident noted that investigators from the McHordsky field near Tacoma investigated the wreckage and found guilty that the sabotage was not applied. It was noted that one of the leading UFO researchers in the US Air Force, Captain Edward J. Ruppelt, the head of the blue project book in the early 1950s, wrote in his 1956 book "Report on Unified Flying Objects" that he was convinced that The UFO discovery story was a hoax. The initial FBI report has completed this story. Despite the fact that the incident was not right (they still believe that they still believe), the cover of an advanced, classified, but sudden ground-based aerospace vehicle or deception, the death of Captain Davidson and Lieutenant Brown was quite real.

MANTELL INCIDENT (1948): If it ever happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, then the Mantel incident qualifies.

On the afternoon of January 7, 1948, the Godman military airfield (in Fort Knox, Kentucky) was not informed by a state highway patrol of a strange circular object who could not identify a diameter of 250-300 feet in diameter that flew along the west course. Being bona fide officers, they considered it their duty to notify the nearest military base - the Godman field.

The servicemen, including the commander, noticed an unknown object from the control tower of the airfield. He was also witnessed at other army airfields (Clinton County Air Field and Lokbourn Field Air Field, as in neighboring Ohio). Witnesses collectively described the movement of an object ranging from stationary to 500 miles per hour; ranging from ground level to 10,000 feet. The solitary object appeared white, but with a reddish fringe at the bottom.

Unfortunately, the formation of the four P-51 mustangs of the Kentucky National Guard just happened in the air and in the vicinity - this neighborhood was the wrong place; the wrong time for one of the pilots, flight commander, captain Thomas Mantell, an experienced pilot (over 2000 flight hours) and a veteran of World War II. In any case, the flight of the P-51 was designed to get up close and personally and determine what kind of object it was.

Not all P-51s were able to fulfill this order to the maximum possible. One was low on fuel; the other two did not have enough oxygen, and they had more sense than going too high, although they continued to keep up with Mantell as much as they could. Mantell, without oxygen supply, however, being the leader of the flight and, no doubt, the alpha male, carefully brought the wind to the wind, boldly went ahead, beating his followers when he did not. He continued to pursue, indicating that the object was moving only at half speed, and it closed for a better look. He allegedly called the object metallic and huge in size, unlike some of its wings, which described it as small and fuzzy.

To make a long story shorter, Captain Mantell rose too high, darkened due to lack of oxygen, and the rest, as they say, is history. His plane began to return to the ground. The witness later reported on the Mustang Mantella in a circular descent. His plane crashed into a farm south of Franklin, Kentucky, in Tennessee-Kentucky. Some stakeholders suggested that, although Mantell was an experienced pilot, he was pretty new to the P-51 Mustang and that this relative inexperience could be a factor in the crash. Despite this, Captain Mantell was, as of 3:18 pm, the late captain Mantell.

So what was the object that caused the enormous death of Mantell? Well, the first semi-annual explanation was that everyone saw, and the P-51 pursued the planet Venus! Obviously, no aircraft can climb high enough to get close and personal with a planet that is millions of miles away, so if Venus was, it is not surprising that Mantell could not close the topic. Desperate to try, he rose too high and lost consciousness from the lack of oxygen, which was a major factor in the accident and his death. So went explanation number one.

Now Venus, depending on where it is in its orbit, can be seen in daylight, if you know exactly where to look. However, he will be very guilty as an object of daylight at the best of times and 99.999% of people, although he is well acquainted with Venus as a celestial object called the morning or evening star. have never seen a planet in broad daylight. I know not. The fact that all of a sudden there are so many people, a road patrol, other civilians, ground military personnel, Captain Mantell and his followers who have attacked Venus, are absolutely astounding - too startling to be believable. In any case, that Venus will look in the daytime sky, and the description of the object in question is simply not a mesh. Scratch Venus.

The next best option was, at the time, the secret balloon of the US Navy Skyhook. Why the meteorological balloon should be completely secret, is outside of me, but classified it. The general characteristics of Skyhook are reasonably consistent with the appearance and movements reported by Mantell and other witnesses, and the anchor point, which is not a special Skyhook balloon, could be specifically defined as being in the area in question during the persecution of Mantell according to some ; facts rejected by skeptics who said that several Skyhooks were launched that day about 150 miles away. Despite this, if the object was Skyhook, it is not surprising that no one could identify it as such, since it was a classified project and object. Of course, it would not be very politically correct to admit that the secret American military program led to the death of the American military pilot!

The cause of the Mantella catastrophe is still not officially designated by the Air Force.

In 1948, flying discs or plates were still quite unique, and therefore the first death, directly related to the flying saucer, was big news, and it was reported in the press. Unfortunately, some of the more vicious sections of the press suggested that Mantell was shot down by a UFO and / or that his body was pierced with holes and / or his p-51 aircraft was found to be radioactive. These messages were false.

In the end, it does not matter what the object was: a good-natured hardcore UFO or something more prosaic, such as Venus or the balloon Skyhook - Mantell was just as dead.

KINROSS INCIDENT (1953): On November 23, 1953, First Lieutenant Felix Monkla (Pilot) and Second Lieutenant Robert L. Wilson (Radar Operator) were hacked from the Kinross Air Force Base in the USA F-FF 89 Air Force 89 Scorpion to investigate an invasion of US airspace, only on the US-Canadian border and above the Upper Level Lake of an unknown aircraft, detected by the radar command of the air defenses in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. At an altitude of about 8,000 feet, after it was sent to ground radar tracking, which was also required for interception, interception was performed. Ground Control traced the F-89 Scorpion and an unidentified object as two separate bursts on the radar screen. The two highlights on the radar screen are getting closer and closer, until they merge, like one return. Assuming that Monkle’s pilot-lieutenant exploded, either under or above the target, ground control thought that after a few seconds, Scorpio and the object would appear again in the form of two separate misses. There was little real fear that the two objects collided with each other in a collision. To their amazement, rather, now the only flash disappeared from the radar screen, and then there was no radar at all. The F-89 seems to have merged with another mystery radar. His IFF signal also disappeared after the two returns were merged into the radar area. Attempts were made to contact the lieutenant of Monkle by radio, but this was unsuccessful. The search and rescue operation was quickly established, but no traces of the aircraft or the pilots and the radar officer were found.

USAF reported that Lieutenant Monkla and Lieutenant Wilson collapsed and that the unknown object was only erroneously identified by the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) aircraft. The official US Air Force Investigation Report on the US Air Force identified an unidentified second aircraft as the RCAF C-47 Dakota VC-912 crossing North Lake Superior from west to east at an altitude of 7,000 feet en route from Winnipeg to Sudbury, Canada, which passed off course .

But in several cases, RCAF denied its involvement in the interception incident in correspondence with members of the public, asking them to provide additional information about the proposed meeting.

So, as in the case of Valentich below, did a UFO succeed with bona-fide using an airplane and a crew? No trace of the F-89, Lieutenant Monkle or Lieutenant Wilson has yet been found, despite the alleged error. in the official report.

SCHAFFNER INCIDENT (1970): US Air Force Pilot Captain US Air Force (USAF) captain William Schaffner in September 1970 at RAF Binbrook participated in an exchange program with the British Air Force (RAF). On the 8th of this month, an unknown threat was detected by the radar in different places, and airplanes from various bases in Iceland and Scotland were sent for takeoff and investigation. However, the object in question continued to play hide-and-seek, appearing on and off the radar as various planes approached, thereby forcing them to completely abandon the chase and return to base.

When he became Captain Schaffner's excuse to investigate and intercept, piloting Lightning, the object stopped playing games, allowing the officer to visually communicate. He noticed and described a dazzling blue object in a conical shape a few minutes before his plane, and then disappeared from the radar. It would seem at first glance that his plane and object merged, the object then moved at high speed, but it was obvious only when the disappearance of the Lightning aircraft from the radar was due to the fact that for some reason Captain Schaffner was flying too low and actually flew straight into the North Sea. And this is when the real puzzles begin.

The aircraft was located (within three weeks) and shortly thereafter (within three months) from the moment of its withdrawal from the bottom of the North Sea. The plane "Lightning" was seriously intact with minimal damage; no explosion, in fact no signs of any mechanical failures that would have led to the accident. The shed was in place and closed. Unfortunately, there was no Captain Schaffner on the plane. The body of Cap Schaffner was never found - and he did not throw out of the cabin into a survival trap.

Was the missing pilot captured by aliens? The Board of Inquiry concluded that Captain Schaffner had traditionally left the plane, but since he was not found, he was supposed to have drowned during or after his escape. But, since the aircraft shed was in place when the Lightning was removed from the sea (and photos confirm this), how did the pilot get off the ship? Thus, regardless of who the unknown object was, and some say that it was nothing but a slow-moving naval reconnaissance aircraft, Shackleton, who lost radio contact with the outside world, which Captain Schaffner tried to intercept, rather than a bona fide UFO in general, you still have a UFO incident and one missed, alleged dead pilot. Of course, if the aliens somehow managed to lead Captain Schaffner up in the air, that would explain why his unmanned plane landed in a drink!

VALENTICH INCIDENT (1978): America, UK, so why not Australia? One of the many, very unexplained UFO cases is the events surrounding Friedrich Valentich on October 21, 1978. This is another case where the smoke is there, there is smoke, but, of course, a lot of it.

In short, in the evening of this date, in perfect weather for a night flight, Mr. Valentich piloted a private plane from Melbourne, intended for the destination, King Island in the Bass Strait. He only took off shortly after this radio, again asking if there was another plane next to him. This was negative according to air traffic control. This plane absolutely began to float or spin around it. Now let me call the spade a spade and label the plane. was a UFO. Several UFOs were seen by several independent witnesses. Showing in his observations, highly recognizing at the end that the mysterious “plane” was not a plane, all contacts had ceased; all communications suddenly ended. Mr. Valentić, the plane and everything, disappeared without a trace. Intensive air and sea search did not find any signs of Mr. Valentich or his aircraft. No oil spills, no floating debris, no body - nothing, zip code, just. No trace has ever been found by a pilot or a plane - not then, not since, never.

One obvious explanation was that Mr. Valentić arranged his own disappearance, although friends and family could not offer any reason why he would do it. Of course, many people voluntarily disappear for various reasons; Many often occur, are made or appear again. But keep in mind; not only Mr. Valentić has disappeared. One plane also disappeared and is no longer visible.
