If you are like me, your pets are family members. People call me crazy, but I load my four dogs and we travel around the country. In our travels, we were in Florida, Texas, throughout the Midwest, and wherever the wind drives us. So, I wrote some of my favorite tips to help you get started.
However, traveling with pets requires some planning and organization. The very first secret you need to solve is that your puppy even loves to travel. If the Spot bounces off the backseat, just bypassing the block, a trip around the country may not be trying. If your puppy finds signs of significant stress, such as crying, seasickness or heavy breathing, you can think about hiring a pet or finding a reputable nursery.
If you have a few weeks before a big walk over rough terrain, you can associate car rides with a good tail kick. Take the Rover to a nearby park, to a pet shop, or even to several access windows around time. A few fears will go a long way to tell Rover that driving a car is fun! But, if he still emphasizes a little, you can buy homeopathic stressful stress tonic and stress reduction pills (for your puppy and you).
Before removing, make sure your pets have identification tags or they are micro-chipped. Dogs often run in unfamiliar places, so make sure you have a strong grip on their leads!
Dogs that are free in the car can be unsafe and annoying for everyone in the car. Invest in seat belts, boxes or bars that separate the cargo hold from the rest of the vehicle. No one likes a jumper for a seat or a wandering kiss. Several security measures may prevent Fifi from leaking out if the vehicle stops or turns sharply. In the dog's resting area, be sure to put a little pad or a favorite blanket to help her relax and hopefully sleep most of the trip. Remember that do not leave the dog unattended for too long in the car.
There are several hotel chains that now allow pets in the room for free or for free. When you arrive in the room, enter the room and take a tour. Look for any foreign objects under the bed, including any tablets, etc., that may fall under the bed. Your best friend, mistakenly taking lost medications, can be disastrous. Most hotels that accept dogs are filled with them, so don't be too upset about the bark from Rover here or there. Dogs are usually a bit tired and settled at home. But, if one of my dogs is a little “too talkative,” I will turn on a fan or TV to drown out any external noise. Without a dog constantly barking, do not worry. The bark here or there will not be noticed.
During feeding, I cooked in separate bags before leaving home. All I have to do is just put it in a bowl. I do not know about you, but I do not carry a huge bag of food in the car! All in dogs. travel bag. Food, toys, leashes, cleaning products, paper towels, bowls, brushes, toys, trips, plastic bags, soothing medicines and bags of food are all convenient.
I even traveled with a cat across the country. Of course, cats usually work better in a box for a kitten. But they love to travel too. My cat, Bob, always said "Take a wallet, go."
Traveling with pets can be fun if you have a plan. I have hundreds of photos of my dogs in front of places of interest, in different states and in comic situations. It was always worth the time when it was planned for them to be with me on these adventures.
