Grill Tips - How to Build a Grilled BBQ Grill -2

Grill-fire is the beginning of the grill process. Without a proper grill, you can’t expect to be a true grill master.

Building your coal-fired barbecue to make a grill is more than just opening a bag, dumping it into charcoal, pouring it over a lighter liquid and throwing it at a match. The key to a good fire on the grill should even be fire. You even need to distribute the coals to minimize temperature fluctuations and get a good, even grill.

The amount of wood briquettes you use will depend on the size of your grill, the amount of food you will be cooking, the weather conditions and the cooking time.

As a rule, when using wood briquettes, plan to use about 30 briquettes to cook 1 pound of meat. Make sure you use enough wood briquettes to cover the BBco grill pan in one layer and extend about 2 inches outside the grill food area.

Place the briquettes in a BBco grill pan to determine the quantity, then fold them into a pyramid shape for lighting. Soak the briquettes with about 1/2 cup lighter liquid and let set for a few minutes before lighting. As soon as the coals start to burn, the ashes begin to form them with long handles in one layer. To have an adjustable temperature change in your grill for the grill, a hot zone and a not very hot zone (called a two-level fire), set half of your fire grill in one layer of coal, and the other half in two or three layers of coal. This will give you hot and medium areas in your barbecue grill to do your cooking. Use this method if you are cooking different types of foods at the same time.

Happy grill!
