Those who are interested in buying a colonial home in Mexico for sale are probably aware of competent examples. Two markets worth considering are the real estate Mazatlan on the Pacific coast and real estate in Morelia in the central highlands of the country. Each of these has its own appeal, and the following is a brief comparison of some of the main points that determine these two, to show some of the options available.
First of all, these two common features are that both offer beautiful colonial houses at excellent prices, modern services, excellent access to air, low cost of living, and direct access to Mexico’s rich history and culture. These two areas differ in the following paragraphs.
Coastline against Lakefront
Mazatlan is famous and unique in order to become a classic, old colonial city directly on the beautiful marine pedestrian street of Mexico. In addition to enjoying the charm of rocky roads, local markets and historical centers, visible right before your eyes, residents of Mazatlan can also enjoy all the advantages of a modern coastal resort city - within blocks of each other.
Morelia is far from the ocean, but within 30 minutes there are 2 large beautiful lakes. Many residents travel around the lake for camping, boating or just an afternoon picnic. The lakes are actually home to a number of old towns, where shoppers can see houses, as well as beautiful, spacious cottages on the lakeside.
climate
Since Mazatlan is in the Pacific, it tends to be quite warm all year round. Sunny days on the beach with a cold drink is a great way to balance a colonial lifestyle! Morelia and the surrounding areas are also never cold, as people from the north are used to, but winter evenings are getting cold enough, so residents can wear a sweater and light a fire in the fireplace (a nice feature found in some of the cottages.)
International fame
In Mexico, both Mazatlan and Morelia are very popular tourist destinations. Mazatlan also achieved a reasonable degree of international fame in the field of tourism. The same fact can be seen in the community of emigrants of reasonable size. Although it is said that Morelia is a city that is not on the beach, which is most visited by tourists from Mexico, it is known outside of Mexico. There is an immigrant community, but it is more scattered and fits more into the local community.
It will be helpful for buyers to consider any of these places depending on their personal needs and tastes.
