8 Basics for creating your online income -2

I always wanted to write a headline, for example, “10 lessons guaranteed to improve ...”. You see them all the time, and they attract an incredible amount of readers and eyeballs ... but then I almost changed my mind. Usually, when you read an article, you find that “lessons” are usually an ad unit for a company.

Just like me a few years ago, I’m sure that what you really want is very specific advice about what you can do today to make your hotel more visible on the search engine results pages (or if you like acronyms , SERP). Therefore, in order not to disappoint you, there are 8 true lights, practical things, including, at the end of this article, the last tip, which always gives results.

1 - Make your website the default for your browser and on all PCs in your hotel

Why do I hear what you ask? So that every time you or your team opens a browser, you are confronted with your home page ... when was the last time you viewed your site? Pretty soon you'll start to miss how it looks, or the content ... just like your customers! And you do something about it ... our research has proven that websites that regularly update their content work much better in the SERP than static websites. In addition, regular visitors to your site will also get a good impression, and sales conversion levels will also increase.

Follow me with me when we are going to do it NOW ... Open your favorite browser, enter the URL (www.yourwebsite.com) in the address bar, click "go". Once your webpage loads, click "Tools" at the top of the page, select "Internet Options." A dialog box will open, and on the General tab you will see the main page ... now click "Use current" (the instructions are very similar for the Firefox browser) ... your website will load all the time when you open the browser. And suddenly his profile became much more important for you ...

Another interesting thing that will happen is that your team members will also start giving you suggestions and feedback on your site ... they will also see it every time they open a browser. Many will start writing material or delivering images from events that you can include on some sub-pages ... and your site will come to life.

2. Ask your competitors to tell you the keywords you need to know.

Ah ... thought it would get your attention. Then you need to find keywords that conduct online business in your city or region ... There are several ways to do this, but here it is easy. Go to Google or your favorite search engine and find your destination and hotel (for example, a hotel in New York) and see the results on the first page. Click on the top and when the page loads, right-click in the free space on the page. Notepad should open, and you can see the code that actually writes the page you were on.

Somewhere near the top you will see an encoding called "title", "meta name =" keywords "content =" and "meta name =" description "content = ...", if they were not particularly vile, you should be able to see an indication of the words that, according to the webmaster, it is important to include on the page so that search engines can find it.

Do this for the next three or four sites on the list of search engines, and you will begin to see how the template appears ... great, right? Do not you like when the competition begins to tell you how to improve the rating of your SERP?

3. Open Google AdWords or Yahoo !. Search marketing account. Now that you have some hints about what your keywords should be, you need to build this list. We use more sophisticated tools, but both Google and Yahoo! Search Marketing has keyword tools that will offer additional keywords based on those that you haven’t discovered yet. Sometimes this account will allow you to create ads for the “Sponsored Links” part on your pages (we will tell you more in another article) ... but for now we just use our tools for keywords.

Visit the Google homepage for your country. Under the search box, click on "Adware", then click on "Google AdWords", and then click on the "Sign Up Now" button ... now is not the time to smoke, be brave.

It will be the best 5-10 US dollars you have ever spent. You will be prompted to set up an account ... when they are asked to enter a few keywords, just enter a few of them that you have already defined. They will also ask you to create an ad; use the name of your property as a name and just say something nice in the next two lines ... you will not be ready for publication, but you need to go through the motors to access the tools.

4 - Start creating your own list of keywords / phrases. Now click the tabs or the Tools or Keyword Tools buttons, and you will be prompted to find even more keywords based on those that you already have. Using common sense and some discussion among your team, and sometimes even a guest or two, create a list of your preferred 20 keywords / phrases.

5 - Put your keywords in the header area of the pages of your site. The title bar of the webpage, as you’ve already found out more clearly, is the blue bar at the very top of the screen when the webpage page is loaded. Right, with white text in it. Search engines pay considerable attention to the text they find in the title bar.

Ask your web designer to put some of your keywords in the title of your home page. The most important words are at the beginning, followed by a good comment on the destination, which repeats the name of the destination and the word “hotel” a second time (for example, the San Diego Hotel) “name filled with too many of your keywords or repeating them more than two, or maximum, three times.

Don't start with your property name ... if you have to put your property name in the title, put it at the end. Search engines add the most “weight” to the words at the beginning of the headline. Now navigate your way down the list of keywords by placing different keywords on different pages, creating different keywords for each page and add the same keywords to the text on the page.

By the way, did you notice that the name is what most search engines in the SERP display? That is why the title should be well written, as seekers will judge wherever you click the link, based on what they read on the screen.

Are you still with me?

6 - View your site's statistics EVERY day Every day ... this is one of the easiest. Wherever your site is located, they are required to provide you with at least a basic statistical summary of how many visitors you visit on your site per day (not hits, visits), how many pages are viewed and other data. This is usually available online with a login.

Make it a habit to register and view statistics every time you start your work day. If your web hosting service does not provide statistics, then move your website to the one that does ... if you are serious about generating traffic to your website and the Internet, then this is just as important as you know the results of last nights or stocks next month.

Almost done ...

7 - Search the number of sites that link to your page. Links to your page from other websites are votes for your page. Simply put, if all other materials between your site and others are equal, but they have better or more links, another site will be delivered to you in the SERP. The number, thematic relevance and quality of links to your site give considerable weight to the leading search engines.

To find out how many links are on your site, go to Google and enter the link in the search field: www.yourwebsite.com (for Yahoo! and MSN use linkdomain: www.yourwebsite.com). Do this for all three, because you will see the difference in the results. Each search engine looks at the links differently, as the change in the number of incoming links is displayed.

Whatever the number, you need to double it over the next six months ... slowly but surely. If you add too much, too quickly, search engines become wise and begin to weaken the effect of your new links. And please do not subscribe to one of them: “We can add 10,000 links to your site in one day for $ 29.95!” ... they add you to shit, spam sites and your mailbox will be full of garbage in a day. In addition, even if they add so many links, it’s likely that search engines will either drop you from their lists, or simply drop links completely, because the fast growth of links is considered as not “natural.”

So how do you build links? There are many ways, but my favorite “in-house” way is to pay your conference and events a $ 20 team for each client they receive to link to your site. Conference and event clients are usually very happy with the link, because your site will save them by answering a bunch of questions about the venue on their own site. The probability of success is about 50.0%, so if you have 10 events per week, these are 5 links from high quality sites per week or 250+ per year. After a couple of months, you will begin to see how your site is progressing through the SERP. "20 dollars!" I hear you stutter? Make it 50 dollars ... it's many, many times that in terms of ranking and income of the SERP.

Ah ha! I feel a disclaimer ... they say that free advice is worth your price. The elements I described here can barely scratch the surface of what is usually necessary to increase income on the Internet, but as I look at it, this is the beginning ... someone very famous once said: “A journey of a thousand miles starts with one steps. ... welcome to the first 8 steps.

“But Kate, these are just 7 fixed assets for generating online income!” You say! Okay, so you think I can't count, but if you made it that far, you are now ahead of 80 %% of hoteliers. Would you like to be in the Top 10.0% of hotel owners and seriously begin to increase revenues on the Internet for 10, 20 or even 30% of the total amount of your income? Well, with suitable apologies for everything, now is the time for this commercial ...
