3 quick online tracking tips -2

I hear all the time, my friends or clients have websites and there are no tracking options at all. When I ask how much traffic they get, pause and throw out some number, this is not good!

If you don’t create a fan site, you’ll need to monitor traffic completely, because otherwise you don’t know where you are standing. If you know that you are getting 15-20 unique visitors per day, you can see whether your efforts will increase up to 50-60 unique visitors in the next few weeks.

Here are my 3 quick tips to track your traffic for free, so be smart and see if your efforts are worth it or not!

1) Use a free tracker like StatCounter
This is my favorite tracking service (or web site in the internet period!). I can visit StatCounter every day, probably several times a day. The service provides you with a free tracker to place on your site (I recommend somewhere in the footer area) and track the 500 most recent visitors at a time for free. You can, of course, increase the number of magazines if you are willing to pay.

With the help of StatCounter, you can not only track your daily visitors, but also know where they came from, each visited an individual path through your website and which keywords they typed in the search engine that brought them to your website (which is important if you? re doing SEO).

2) Use unique URLs for your marketing efforts.
Even if you use a tracker such as StatCounter, you want to be smarter when sending various marketing efforts to one source. Say, for example, you sell watches online, and you do television advertising, radio advertising and online banner advertising. If you cannot set up sophisticated tracking methods to track each source, then the simplest thing you could do is simply take a page with the watches you sell and set up 3 different named pages, anyway, now the difference is that you send your advertising traffic to one page, radio traffic to another, etc.

This is the easiest way to take complex traffic tracking and make it extremely simple and executable for almost everyone! No extra effort, all you do is take a page with the watches you sell and duplicate it 3 times. You just rename each page to whatever you want, and you do it.

3) Use new features like video passing
The technology has advanced, and now instead of seeing only raw data about your traffic, you can see videos about how they view your site, every visitor! While this may seem a bit “creepy” to ordinary users, business owners may find extraordinary wealth in this information. Services such as Clicktale provide this service as a free trial, but because of how this resource works, you have to pay a monthly fee for permanent use.
