
In the heart of the Washington Cascade Mountains is Lake Wenatchee, a mountain lake that attracts thousands of tourists and is the center of recreational opportunities. Lake Wenatchee area offers many things to do and is surprisingly easy to reach.
Lake Wenatchee is located in the center of the state and is accessible from either side of the state via Highway 2. Travelers from Seattle are likely to pass through the Stevens Pass in the west, and travelers from Eastern Washington will pass through the city of Wenatche to Egypt Blewett Pass. The lake is located at a depth of 244 feet in depth and is approximately 6 miles in length, just over 13 miles from the coastline. Lake Wenachi is fed by the White River and the Small Wenatchea River, and snow flows from the surrounding mountains. Lake Wenaci is devastated at the eastern end of the Wenatci River, which flows through the cities of Leavenworth, Kashmir and Wenatci before entering the Columbia River.
Boat trips and fishing are available on the lake itself, along with camping sites in different places. On the shore, right where the lake flows into the Wenatche River, is the State Park of Lake Wenatci. The state park is divided by the Wenatche River into the northern and southern parts, the southern section with a docking station for yachts, a beach and a rope for swimming. On hot summer days, the beach area can be crowded, and vacationers relax in the beautiful mountain water. Before entering the southern part of Wenachi Lake State Park, you will pass to Nason Creek Camping Camp. Nason Creek flows through this small campsite, and then into the Wenatchee River. Shortly before entering the state park, the road goes to the left; if you follow this for three to four miles, it will lead you to the Glacial Glance camp near the western tip of Wenatchee Lake. Many of the camping Glacier View are located right on the lake. There is also a small hike to the Lost Lake, which begins at the trail next to the Glacier View campgrounds. The Lost Lake is suitable for fishing and provides a great swimming experience, full of glaciers. More hiking can reach the State Park via the Nason Creek Trail.
Camping and hiking are also available to the west of Lake Wenatchee in the White River and Little Wenatchee Rivers. The campaigns that you find in this area are more primitive in what they offer, but they are also more private and private. In this direction, you can access hiking trips that connect to the famous Pacific Coast Pathway (PCT), which runs from Canada to California or makes small trips to Twin Lakes and other places. There are also many forests and logging roads in this area. West of Lake Wenatchee, back on Highway 2, you will be taken to the Stevens Pass, which offers skiing in winter.
To the north of Lake Venaci lies the Fish Lake and is true for its name, which is known. There are many rental opportunities in Fish Lake for boats and cabins to stay overnight. Beyond Fish Lake, you get access to the Chivawa River, known for its system of trails, which can be used on foot, mountain bike, bicycle and horse, depending on which area you are in. For tourists with longer stamina, trails in the area also pave their way through the mountains of Entiat and Chelan, which stretches to Lake Chelan, and the cities of Lucerne, Holden Village and Stephekin, none of which is accessible outside the road, as well as to the beautiful valley of the Antyat River .
Trekking, climbing and camping are available south of Lake Wenatchee in the Canyon of the Isikl River. The Isikl River flows into the Wenatchee River in the city of Leavenworth. Many of the state’s, if not the country’s, most beautiful hiking trails can be found outside of Leavenworth in the desert region of the Alpine Lakes. Permits for hiking and camping are needed for most parts of this area as a way to limit people's exposure to this cherished environment. Canyon Icicle also offers climbing opportunities on several sites. Trekking and snowmobiles are available in the Blewett Pass region, which is also located south of Lake Wenatchee. Leavenworth is a paradise for shoppers with its Bavarian themed shops and restaurants that everyone loves.
To the east of Lake Wenatchee, outside of Leavenworth, outdoor activities are still opportunities. Hiking and mountain bike trails can be found outside of Kashmir, near Mission Creek, climbers can go all that Peschastina Pinnacles State Park has to offer, and of course there is fishing and boating along the mighty Columbia River that flows directly from Wenatchee , the largest city in the region.
From mountain skiing to mountain biking, from horse riding to climbing, it is difficult to find the equal diversity that this area has to offer. In the area of Lake Wenatchee there is something to offer for both outdoor enthusiasts and holidaymakers or tourists.
