Many people asked me differently about different types of cichlids, so I thought that the composition of a few list in relation to different species.
The Cichlid fish (sik-a-lid) derives from what is known as the Cichlidae family (sik-li-day). The Cichlidae family is an extremely large and diverse family, which describes about 2000 specimens, and it is believed that there is still much to be described from a scientific point of view.
They were supposed to be the largest vertebrate family.
Due to the fact that we are constantly finding new species of species, it is very difficult to estimate the exact number of types of cichlids.
These fish come in some of the most bizarre forms, most breathtaking, and give up some peculiar manners, and this creates quite a character.
Cichlids are found throughout the world, ranging from Africa and Asia to North and South America.
Cichlid fish, which are usually kept in captivity, can come from African waters, as well as from the Amazon, as well as from some famous lakes such as Lake Malawi, Great African Rift Lake and Lake Tanganyi.
Currently, there is a huge variety of behavior and eating habits of these fish due to the greater number of types.
Most types of cichlids are herbivorous fish and feed on vegetation or even algae. Other cichlid species are usually omnivorous, eat anything, or are carnivorous fish that live on other fish and insects.
A wide range of eating habits really allowed Cichlid fish to occupy numerous habitats. Cichlid fish do not survive in saltwater, although their ancestors are quite funny.
Most types of cichlids are quite reduced in size, and many of them are usually called game types.
This led to the fact that several different types of cichlids were processed for human consumption. On the other hand, we cannot deny the number of fish tank enthusiasts who use cichlid species due to their attractive colors and trends.
Angelfish, Oscar fish, Discus fish and Convict cichlid are among the most popular aquarium enthusiasts.
